The Josephine Kernes Memorial Pool has been an integral part of the Monterey Peninsula community since 1973. Founded by Edith and Herb Perry to teach swimming to individuals with disabilities, the new Pool was built in 1992 and named after Mrs. Perry’s mother who exemplified the value and reward of service to others.
